Built during the late 15th century, early 16th, on a 13th century base, the medieval castle of Bonaguil has its enormous architecture standing on three rock foundations. Listed "Major site of Aquitaine", Bonaguil is an absolute model of fortified castle, built for fire artillery. During summer, the castle proposes nocturnal tours and medieval working groups.
Next to the castle of Bonaguil, the landscape reading 2km path helps you to discover the heritage in a different way, thanks to 7 boards: specific wood's essence, former iron ore quarry, interesting outlooks...
- March and October from 2 p.m. to 5.30 p.m.,
- April, May, June and September from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.,
- July and August from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.,
- From November to February, only during school holidays (all zones) from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Closed on December 25th and January 1st.
No guided tours during winter.
Last entry possible 1 hour before the castle closes.
