The archeological site of the Martinet is located a few steps from the museum. It was listed Historical Monument in 1932. In 1923, Laurent Coulonges, archeologist, discovers hundreds of small silex points, less than a centimiter high. It characterizes a new prehistoric era, called "Sauveterrien" by the archeologist. The path going to this excavation site is punctuated by explanatory boards along the Lémance river, and it is where temporary events organized by the museum take place.
Plunge into time... and try out an amazing journey across prehistory and science, at the heart of SauveTerre Prehistory Museum. Observe, touch, listen, feel... Play the scientist and explore our ancestors' universe thanks to models, facsimiles, touch screens, videos, taxidermies...
The adventure goes on, if you want, outside, along the prehistoric path, to the archeological site. A "prehisto" discovery to share with your family, as from now !
Some events are accessible to people with a disability (see details with the museum).
