The knowledge of tourism supply and visitor numbers at a macroeconomic level is an essential element in the planning, structuring and programming of every tourism action in a region.
Since 2004, every 4 to 5 years, the Comité Régional du Tourisme d’Aquitaine and the Comité Régional du Tourisme de Nouvelle-Aquitaine run a large-scale customer survey.
Since 2023, this data is also used to measure the carbon footprint of tourism. Updating this calculator allows us to assess the trajectory of GGE since 2019 and to refine the assessment of the environmental and economic impact, not only of the actions already implemented but also of changes to be encouraged in the future.
